Ques:- Why you need to format the device or phone ?

If the phone is not working correctly or get hang .

If your phone get unlock (pattern , pin , etc) .

Then you may need to master reset it and also clear the cache partition.

NOTE:- your phone's battery is minimum 60% charge and remove memory card and sim card .

Warning:- All your data including contacts, messages etc. will be lost. Copy all your necessary data/Contacts/Messages etc. to SIM or make backup to your PC before full reset.

Settings → Back up and reset→ Factory data reset → Reset device→ Delete all.

and dont turn off or take out battery .

To wipe the cache partition, follow these steps:

1- Turn off the device.
2-Press and hold the following three buttons at the same time:

1.1- Volume Up key
1.2- Home key
1.3- Power key

3- When the phone vibrates, let go of the Power key but continue to press and hold the Volume Up key and the Home key.
4- When the Android System Recovery screen appears, release the Volume Up and Home keys.

5- Press the Volume Down key to highlight "wipe cache partition" .

6- Press the Power key to select and wipe the cache.

7- now select "yes -delete all user data" by vsing volume buttons and press power button for selecting .

7- now you done the formatting just select  "reboot system now"

And now your phone is totally reset , just enjoy .
